Sainsbury’s/Wilmer Place Planning Meeting Tonight 26th June

We have a campaign planning meeting on Wednesday 26 June, at 6.30 – 8pm, at the Methodist Church 106, Stoke Newington High Street, N16 (next door to the existing Sainsbury Local).

We have just over a month to organise opposition to the renewed Sainbury’s/Wilmer Place development. Please come along and let us know your views about how we can alert our community to this planning application and publicise the opposition. If you can attend, please register.

We have launched a new on-line petition calling on the Council to reject the renewed  over-development. Help us say NO, by signing the petition and then urging others to do the same.

Activity proposed so far includes:

  • An on-line petition (see above)
  • Producing a campaign leaflet and distributing it door-to-door across the local area.
  • A bug parade (27th July)  to highlight the adverse impact on the biodiversity of Abney Park Cemetery if the development goes ahead.
  •  A dignified presence at the Council Planning Committee meeting (31st July).

Finally
We need to ensure that there are more objectors to this application than there were to the last, so please, tweet, Facebook, email and speak to people about this proposal.

Please encourage people to sign up for email alerts.

We have already shown what we can do when we try, so now let’s get our community organised for ’round two’!
